Sources Of Glow For Interior Design Grads To Know

By Katie Arden

Glow is one of the most helpful elements, designed to add a bit of character to any home. I am sure that others can attest to this, especially when considering that there are so many different ways for this element to be incorporated. It's all about looking at sources, which those in the field of interior design can direct your attention to many of. Here are just a few of them to consider, not only to bring light into your home but an added sense of character as well.

It wasn't uncommon for me, as a child, to visit my grandmother and see the litany of candles around the house. She took to them, not only for the light that they presented but the various scents they were made with. What this meant was that one room would wind up smelling distinctly unique from another, though not in negative ways. If anything, these candles proved to be great sources of glow, regardless of how traditional they have been on the surface.

Another source of glow to consider would be lanterns, as they incorporate the aforementioned candles in order to create more portable methods. There are many colors that these lanterns come in, meaning that it wouldn't be out of the question for the aforementioned glow to be a unique color. It could be a bright white, of course, but what about other hues designed to make your home stand out? Simply put, lanterns aren't to be overlooked.

There's also the matter of glass cubes, which are less prevalent than the options covered earlier. Basically, glass cubes are mostly used to keep lit candles, something multiple ones in a single container. What this does is that it creates a sense of glow, which can come in the form of one of many colors. Homeowners should look into these as well. Even if they do not use candles much, more often than not, they are excellent additions to any home.

You have to consider that these are just a few sources of glow to recognize. Nonetheless, I do not think that anyone can argue with the effectiveness they present. It's all a matter of choosing what fits your home best, which isn't going to be difficult when you think about the many options which exist. Simply put, you're not going to be short on variety. Make it a point to look into interior design practices and enjoy the variety in question to the highest degree.
